What is prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a health condition where sugar levels in the blood are higher than normal, but not high enough to have type 2 diabetes. Most people have no symptoms, but prediabetes puts you at higher risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

With prediabetes, your blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes.

National Diabetes Prevention Program

Reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by enrolling in the National Diabetes Prevention Program. Participants attend 22 classes over the course of one year to learn to create healthy habits like healthy eating and increasing physical activity.
